Child support question?

I have been hospitalized for almost 1 month. I need a walker now to get around. My doctor doesn't think I can ever go back to my job. I am 18 months away from retirement. They are looking into disability for me. How would child support work then. If I am considered disabaled would I also get SSI and my kids? I work for the state of Utah. Does anyone know how that would effect my retirement.
