Why do I look bad in almost every picture taken of me?

I don't look half as bad in real life as I do in pictures.. It's very annoying.. Even when I try to not make people take pictures of me, they force me to, and it always turns out bad. I hate it :( I also HATE people uploading pictures of me to Facebook, which they do. Everyone sees them then... I just always look bad/ugly in them, when I know I'm not as bad in real life. It's really depressing.. Is it normal to be so un-photogenic? :(
