How many days after a tonsillectomy does your throat start to feel better?

I had a tonsillectomy Thursday the 16th, so 9 days ago and the pain in my throat hasn't gotten any better. I am 20 years old and I have lost 10 lbs which puts me down to 100 lbs total, I feel like I am starving myself and I want to eat so bad but it hurts sooo bad so I am hardly eating anything except jello and popsicles. I had to stop taking vicodin because it made me throw up so now I'm taking tylenol with codeine but it doesn't do much for the pain. Also, i was hospitalized for 4 days this week with a C-Diff infection so could that be why my recovery is taking longer? I am miserable and hungry and just want this pain to get better!!
