Is it safe for her to volunteer on her own?

Someone in my life became very sick a few years ago. She had a complication with her medications and it made her schizophrenic. She was hospitalized and she is now on strict meds. She's able to be around other people she's just a bit distant because she's been through a lot. She talks wih me and a couple other people. I think she may have post-schizophrenic depression. She's on her meds but its not enough. i feel like she should be social and talk with others so she doesnt talk to herself. I was wondering if it is it a good idea for her to do a volunteer job on her own since im in school and have work. Is it safe for her to be volunteering on her own and where would be a good job for her to volunteer?
